Hello to the readers...

Hello again to the CSULB world! I'm Barbara Navarro, the new assistant editor of the diversions section at the school’s daily paper, the Daily Forty-Niner. There are so many exciting things on the horizon for this spring semester that's ahead.

If you've picked up the Daily Forty-Niner newspaper, already you've noticed the sparkling new design. The diversions section, specifically, has been upgraded in a number of ways. And now that I'm blogging, it opens the door for better communication with all of our diversions readers. Hare a few of the things you should look out for:

  • 5 TO TRY: This new feature, created by design coordinator Allison Baldwin, will be updated every day the newspaper's out. And, because I write pretty much the bulk of them, I'll be posting them here, too.
  • CONSIDERED CONNOISSEUR: This blog-exclusive feature will highlight somebody new every two weeks to a month. It's my way to introduce to my readers people who are unique and important and intriguing to this ever-expanding Long Beach orb, regardless if they're found on campus or in the community that surrounds us.
  • EXCLUSIVE MULTIMEDIA AND GUIDES: I'll be keeping you updating on what to do and where to go. If I ever have extra footage, my pictures, videos and other content that won’t make it to the newspaper will most likely meet its time in the limelight here.

Ooh, spring... So many good things ahead. ;)
